Playhouse Creatures is a small New York theatre group that’s bursting with massive ambitions. Since 2009 their goals have been to dynamize the legacy of American theatre, foster emerging artists of diverse backgrounds, and extend theatrical experience to under served NYC youth.
With hard work and scrappy determination, the group became noted for their successful New Works Series, readings of major playwrights’ new works, Tennessee Williams festivals, cabaret productions and comedy events. Having established themselves, Playhouse Creatures required a new logo that represented not only their their achievements, but an ongoing resolve to cultivate dialogue between theatre and community.
Enter Reitdesign, stage left! We “auditioned” new logo concepts for the group which represented the accessible, casual nature of the Playhouse Creature theatre-going experience and united their sense of history and community. Knowing that this image would play many roles, we knew the logo had to adapt to the Playhouse Creature website and a variety of supporting marketing materials. Ultimately, Playhouse Creature’s new logo not only honors theatre, it celebrates Playhouse Creatures as a focal point where art, dialogue, and service enrich the community.
